The Miramichi Senior Citizens Home opened in 1968.  This facility is home to 81 residents.  It is a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors and a staff of 109 full and part-time employees. 

The Miramichi Senior Citizens Home is host to a number of outreach programs including Meals on Wheels, Senior Day Program, Lifeline, and the Relief Care Bed, assisting senior citizens and their families in the Miramichi region.

MSCH is also home to a Veterans Unit which opened in 1985, and serves 15 veterans from the Miramichi area.

The newest addition to the Nursing Home has been the construction of a dementia unit, which was officially opened on July 14th, 2006.

The Nursing Home has been accredited with the Canadian Council on Health Facilities Accreditation since 1981.
